1. to the end of one's life, all one's life:

- till <to> one's dying day;

- till (to) the end of one's days.

     ♦ "Я до последнего дыхания её [Россию] любить буду" (Гроссман 2). "I'll love Russia till my dying day" (2a).

2. биться, сражаться, защищать кого-что и т.п. до последнего вздоха (to fight, defend s.o. or sth.) to the point of sacrificing one's life:

- (right up) to one's dying <last> breath;

- to the <one's> death;

- to the bitter end.
